Controversy erupts over whether or not the hobbits of Flores are really a new species, or just a pygmy human with a mental condition that results in a small skull.
Scientists love a good argument, as Professor Teuka Jacob, the leader of the hobbit sceptics, says:
This is like ecstasy without the drug. It relieves you. The blood speeds up. It excites you.

I read this post a long time ago as I was very interested in this ‘new’
species. Disappointed when I saw all the controversy and the
possibility that it was a pigmy version of Homo Sapiens or worse, a
modern human being with microcephaly!
Now I have just read this article in the Times Online for 4th March
2005: The hobbits are in a class all of their own. You
might just be interested too as it seems they are a new species after
all!
