Too Orangey for Crows
It’s standard nostalgic pub conversation no. 7; favourite children’s TV programmes. But what about the adverts that we 20-somethings were watching between episodes of He-man, Nightmare, Fraggle Rock and Trapdoor? One of the best was Kiora. “I’ll be your dog!”

Favourite kids tv - there is a subject. Magic roundabout, captain caveman, banana splits, muppet show, wacky races. When I was too old for it but needed to have something to talk about in maths class: dangermouse, count duckula, Ulysses (we spent double maths every Weds am talking about this). I could go on. And on.

It’s a little known fact that the music from the Ariston advert also happened to be the music for the Spectrum version of Robocop, if I remember correctly. And favourite kids telly? I can’t believe Harriet missed out Dogtanian and The Three Muskahounds… Shocking.

(I have to admit that I didn’t like Dogtanian.)

If you’ve got cable I recommend checking out Fox Kids (600 something). At the minute they’re doing re-runs of Mask, Ulysses 31 (yersh!) and Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors.

I’m trying to track down the kiora song - why you ask. Well its boils down to the fact I have this crow problem and everyone knows that its just too orangey for them.
I think it was based on a song called fidora or that was released after the advert. Whatever I cannot find it and that means I have to make the stupid dog noise on my own.
Please help this sad old man if you can. 435 crows and a dog to support.

Hey hey - just found the link to the mpeg. They just don’t make them like that anymore.
Still be great if someone found the full 12″ disco version.
Thank you
